Pía cake is a culinary heritage of the Chinese and Vietnamese communities in the Vung Thom region, Sóc Trăng – where the craft of making Pía cakes has existed for over 200 years. The name "Pía" originates from the Teochew language. The cake's crust is made using a characteristic multi-layered, thin-rolled technique of the Chinese, creating a unique crispness and light flakiness that no other cake can achieve.

The filling is a perfect combination of fragrant, rich durian, mild, earthy mung beans, and savory salted egg yolk, three layers of flavor harmoniously blended in one bite. This is the most distinctive gift from Sóc Trăng, sought after by those away from home every time they return for a visit.

Consume directly at room temperature to fully appreciate the flavor. If you prefer to eat it warm, you can heat it in an oven at 150°C for 5 minutes to make the crust crispier and enhance the durian filling's aroma.
