Nang Thom Cho Dao rice is one of the few rice varieties in Vietnam to be granted exclusive geographical indication – meaning only rice grown in the specific region of Cho Dao, My Le commune, Can Duoc district, Long An province, can bear this name. The unique soil of the ancient alluvial plains along the Vam Co Dong River imparts a natural aroma and subtle sweetness found nowhere else.

Nang Thom rice grains are long and slender, translucent, and when cooked, release an aroma that fills the house without the need for any additional fragrance. The cooked rice is moderately chewy, with individual grains separating without being mushy – a characteristic always sought after by discerning rice connoisseurs in the South.

Gently rinse the rice 1-2 times, do not over-rinse to preserve the thin bran layer, as this layer creates the characteristic aroma. Standard water ratio: 1 cup rice - 1.5 cups water. Can be cooked in a rice cooker or a regular pot. Let the rice rest for 5-10 minutes after cooking before opening the lid for even expansion of grains and optimal aroma.

Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and high humidity. After opening the package, store in an airtight container or tie the bag tightly, and use within 3 months to ensure the best aroma. Do not store near strong-smelling foods as rice can easily absorb foreign odors.
